Now, these wee little magic books, where'd they come from, hm? Anyone ever ask about that? I mean, they're just layin' right here in yer room and y'just trust th'place that much t'pick it up and wave it about! Meself included, I suppose. Where's th'magic comin' from?

[Her voice darkens, just a little.]

Oh, God, I’d, like, love to learn how to dance like that! Just the way the feet and legs are all coordinated. I mean, I was, like, a cheerleader and all before I died, but that’s, like, hardly the same thing, so I know it’s probably silly to, like, even compare the two, and yet there I go, comparing the two!
 
[She falls silent when Merida tells her what year it is, her eyes widening as she balks.]
